VirtualDub
VirtualDub is a Free and open-source video capture and video Editing software for Microsoft Windows. It is designed to process linear video streams, including filtering and recompression. It uses AVI (Audio Video Interleave) format to store captured or edited video. AVI is a Container format.
VirtualDub is recommended for use by professional computer and tech magazines, guides, and reviewers such as PC World, PC & Tech Authority.
VirtualDub is a video capture/processing utility for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows platforms.
It lacks the editing-power of a general-purpose editor such as Adobe Premiere, but is streamlined for fast linear operations over video. It has batch-processing capabilities for processing large numbers of files and can be extended with Other (third-party) video filters. Mainly VirtualDub is geared towards processing AVI files.
